Remembering Wrecks

A year and a half ago Wrecks was diagnosed with kidney disease. Since then we have done our best to keep him as happy and healthy as we possibly could. A couple of weeks ago he took a turn for the worse. On Wednesday October 24 we took him to the vet, and discovered that in addition to his kidney disease he also had a heart murmur and a tumour under his tongue. We had to make one of the most difficult decisions of our lives, but we knew that he was suffering, and very sick. We held him in our arms as he took his last few breaths, and peacefully lay him to rest. That afternoon we buried him deep in the earth among the ferns and trees on Sumas Mountain, where he was born and spent the first year of his life.

We wanted to share some photos to celebrate the life of our ever-curious and warm-hearted man cat. He was a very special little guy, and will be missed deeply. Wherever you are, we love you Wrecks.

Love Benjamin, Jolene and Molly
